Our Journey since 2015

CEVA comes from a Sanskrit word which interprets to the art of blessed action. It helps one’s spiritual growth and at the same time contribute to the improvement of a community. This is the art of unconditional giving where the act itself is a gift to everyone involved.

CEVA was founded in 2015. After five years of existence as a social enterprise, our endeavors remain the same: a growing profitable and sustainable enterprise which provides opportunities and benefits for the community we work with and whenever possible promote youth and women participation and leadership in our business and society. Our current portfolio includes community engagement (Ceva as Community-Based Organization/CBO), management consulting, property & interior, food & beverage and culture & lifestyle.

As part of our effort to promote Balinese art and culture, CEVA organized double-ikat geringsing fabrics exhibitions and presentations since 2016 to promote heritage traditional textile to much wider audience.  The exhibitions and presentations featured women weavers from the village of Tenganan Pegringsingan, Bali, the only place in Indonesia where the double ikat geringsing is produced.  We continue to support weavers in Tenganan by putting forward the geringsing to national and international markets. We plan to hold an international exhibition post COVID-19.

All of endeavors focus on people, planet and profit--a triple bottom line which would promote sustainability.

CEVA Community Engagement (est. 2019)

We focus our work as a CBO (Community Based Organization) on empowerment for women and youth, especially on economy and education. The economic empowerment is conducted by building on our social entrepreneurial activities started in 2015. To address the community needs, our goals are to facilitate workers to gain proper skills to get and maintain entry-level jobs and aspiring entrepreneurs to establish and run profitable, sustainable businesses. We use our other endeavors as a platform to sustainably advance this cause. Doing so, we are able to kick start the projects and hopefully start garnering support to scale it up.

In 2020 and beyond, post COVID-19 pandemic, together with over 10 brand partners in Bali, Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya, we launched Itikad Baik (Good Cause) project (see 2020 projects).

Starting in 2020 as well we connect community with national and international resources to address social and economic issues such as waste management, safe water and SME market access.

We co-hosted an international webinar on “Mainstreaming Generation Equality in Indonesian Society through Community-Based Projects” on NGO CSW New York Virtual Forum, a Parallel Event to UN Women’s 65th Commission on the Status of Women in March 2021.

CEVA Food & Beverage (est. 2018)

In 2018, we branched out to Food & Beverage with the launching Sang Pisang Bali, a strong nation-wide brand working with millennial team (Sang Pisang by Kaesang Pangarep) and with expansions in 2018 and 2019. We expanded our support to organic food trade and we’re working to establish a recycle and waste management program to serve our internal and community needs and promoting a circular economy.
