Ceva Bali is a community-based organization (CBO) founded in 2015 in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, focusing on women and youth empowerment, especially in the field of economy and education. As a convener, we commit to bring grassroots stories to the global platform.
Ceva Women’s Circle
In 2015 we created a sharing platform: Ceva Women’s Circle that brought together community, women, and youth leaders to share ideas and support one another to advance in their professional and personal lives. In the wake of COVID-19, we moved to the digital platform via webinars, business coaching, and social networking, which we organized in collaboration with our partners. Ceva supports micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to access national and export markets / international trade. We assists “internationalization” of our partner NGOs and CBOs, one of them by joining the NGO CSW/NY platform.
In 2020, post COVID-19 pandemic, CEVA with ten brand partners in four major cities in Indonesia—Bali, Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya—launched Itikad Baik (Good-Cause) project. To date the group have hosted four national and international public webinars, several Instagram lives and online workshops, collaborate on product development, and support each other with entrepreneurship and business coaching. We also started our social initiatives to support women and education leaders by providing scholarship to upgrade their skills.
Sustainable Communities Project
Our endeavour to implement circular economy at the community level have brought us to develop a community-based project on solid waste management that also promote "internationalization" efforts. We collaborate with peers and experts globally in the area of technology and UN SDG Model City to exchange lessons learned and tap into needed knowledge and expertise to address social and economic challenges.
Cultural and Heritage Preservation
Our engagement with community also encompassing cultural and social dimension. We organized double-ikat geringsing fabrics exhibitions and presentations since 2016 to promote this heritage textile to wider audience. The exhibitions features weavers from the village of Tenganan Pegringsingan, Bali, whom we continue to support by putting forward their creation to national and international markets.
